Busy Busy Busy

My apologies for lack of posting lately.  We’ve been super busy getting things together to ship our yearlings out & that has consumed my life!  But, we’ve got (almost) everything shipped out & are getting ready to bring the next set of calves to the ranch to raise.  My husband has been super busy making a trip to the ranch in Opheim to ship steers & heifers from there, and then coming home to ship heifers from the ranch here.  So between helping him, taking care of things while he & David were gone, and keeping up the house we haven’t really had a break!  But, things are starting to slow down a bit (at least for a few weeks again).

Last weekend Wesley was in Opheim so me and the boys hung out in the house all weekend long.  I got some much wanted {and needed!} sewing in last Saturday and am excited to give my creations to a few special people!  I’m still working on putting together the finishing touches on the creations I made, but as soon as I have everything together I’ll be sure to post pictures of it.  Wesley got back Monday & we were so glad to have him home again!  We’ve had a busy week but are looking forward to the weekend.

Tomorrow evening we are having the Boucher family over for supper & game night.  We’re all excited to get together again!  When I first moved here we’d hang out with the Boucher’s about twice a month.  And then between them having babies & Clint’s job in the oil field it was hard to get together with them.  Fortunately for us, Clint took a job on a ranch about 20 miles closer to our home & we are able to get together with them like old times!  It’s been great for all of us.  We have so much fun together, and we just love those little boys of theirs!  Saturday afternoon we’re going to pick Jack (almost 2 years old) and Hayes (4 months) up and take them with us shopping in Miles City because Clint & Sarah are attending a wedding & we volunteered to watch the boys for them.  Then we’ll take them back to their house & watch them until Clint & Sarah get home.  We’re pretty excited about keeping them!  Of course holding Hayes is right up my alley.  He loves to rock & snuggle so I have a feeling we’ll be doing a lot of that Saturday evening.  Jack loves to play with Wesley.  They get down on the floor & wrestle & bang on his toys...it’s really cute. I believe we’ll all have lots of fun Saturday evening!

Sunday we plan to have a little round robin roping at the ranch since this will be about the last weekend for roping until the spring season again.  They’re already getting snow in Western Montana (can you believe it?!) so it won’t be long and we’ll be seeing some of that white stuff around here too.  I’m going to try to get some pictures of little Jack & Hayes this weekend when we watch them.  They’re just adorable J

Baby B!

She’s HERE!!!!!!!  I’m finally getting to write an update about my sweet little niece that was born last week!  Kaegan Lea was born September 5th (my husband’s birthday!) at 8:05 am.  She weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 inches long.  She is absolutely adorable!!!  Mom, Dad, and baby are all doing fine and are getting used to their new normal at home.  I can’t wait to hold this sweet princess when we come to Texas later this winter!  We love her already & I know her Mom & Dad are just smitten with her!  Congrats Katy & Jason on a beautiful baby girl!  We love y'all!  :)

HaPpY bIrThDaY!

Happy Birthday to my amazing husband!  His birthday was last week but I’m just now getting the chance to wish him a happy birthday on the blog!  We enjoyed a low-key birthday celebration with his parents.  We went out to supper that evening in Forsyth with his parents, then came home to celebrate just the two of us with presents & cake.  He requested an Oreo blizzard cake for his birthday, and I did not disappoint.  Plus he got himself some new clothes, a new cell phone, and some new cooking gear for his birthday from me!  He also received a nice gift card from my parents, and a couple new shirts & some money from his parents.

Happy birthday babe!  I’m so lucky to get to celebrate your birthday with you & can’t wait to celebrate many, many more with you!!  I Love you....more!!

A Labor-less Labor Day Weekend

We had quite a fun weekend this past weekend with everything from roping to BBQ included.  Friday evening Wesley & I went out to look at some calves to purchase this fall, then decided it’d be best for us to pick up some Chinese food from our local Chinese restaurant for supper.  The Chinese food never disappoints as it was just delicious this time as it has been in the past!

Saturday was our roping club’s roping finals & also a memorial roping that followed our year end roping.  Wesley participated in both ropings but was just shy of the money both times.  But, he had a good time roping & I had a great time taking video’s and pictures of him in action.  We invited our friends Clint & Sarah and their two little ones out for supper that evening so after the roping was over we headed home that afternoon to start preparing food.  Clint & Sarah arrived shortly after we did & we had a wonderful visit with the two of them.  We enjoyed delicious BBQ steaks & chicken with all the sides that night for supper.  Their baby (who’s 3 months old) is absolutely adorable & Jack (22 months) is at the age where he’s just so much fun.  He’s walking & talking & loves to try to repeat what you say to him.  He had a long day Saturday so that evening he crawled up in his “Tippy’s” (me) lap & I rocked him to sleep before they loaded up to go home.

We didn’t have any real plans on Sunday at all, but got a call from Clint inviting us to come roping at their place, so we loaded up a couple horses & away we went.  They planned on having a little BBQ after the roping, so I whipped up some homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to take with us before we headed out for the day.  While the guys roped Sarah & I got to catch up and it was wonderful!  We hadn’t been able to talk like that in so long so it was nice for us to have some uninterrupted girl time together!  That evening Sarah & Clint cooked up some delicious hamburgers & fixings & we enjoyed each other’s company well into the night that night.  I believe by the time we got home it was pushing 1 AM…very late for us!  But, it was worth it.  It was so fun.

On Monday, Labor Day, we had no plans & kept our schedule that day just as it was planned.  We slept in, enjoyed each other’s company, went over to the ranch and practiced roping  bit, and watched a movie.  It was delightful!  Every now & then days like that are needed and we were very much looking forward to our day of nothingness on Labor Day.

With the holiday on Monday that means a short work week this week.  Who doesn’t love short work weeks!?  I certainly do.  And, this week is such a big week all around!  Wesley celebrates his birthday & Kaegan is going to be born!  I’m super excited for both events & can’t wait to see that precious baby.
