Here lately....

Things around here have been busier than I thought they'd be (although who am I kidding...we're busy 90% of the time)!  This past weekend we had about a foot of snow (yes, a FOOT) fall between Friday morning and Saturday afternoon.  It was quite an event getting around the ranch last weekend to feed when everything was covered by so much snow!  But, we made it.  After all, it is March in Montana...anything is possible!  We've had quite the snow and ice this winter season that's for sure, and I think we've all got a touch of spring fever waiting for all the snow to melt so we can enjoy our leisurely outside activities again!  However, the moisture is a great thing for the land so for that we are grateful.

Between subbing at the school and helping Wesley out around the ranch when he needs me I've stayed pretty busy.  I believe our "children" (i.e. dogs) are really enjoying their time with their Mom.  Before long we will be in to full calving season and the doggies are going to have to go back to "work" around the ranch so they're soaking up their lazy days while they can!

We haven't started calving yet, but that should happen in the next 10 days.  I can't wait to start seeing all the little calves running around the ranch and exploring their new world.  They're so adorable and full of energy!

Our weekend last weekend involved a lot of card playing since there was so much snow on the ground, and it was too cold outside to do much else.  Saturday afternoon we had David over (his Mom was away at a state FFA meet), and then Sunday we went to their house for cards and supper.  We also watched The American (the million dollar rodeo in Dallas, TX) on TV together.  That was quite a rodeo!!  What a great way to get the sport of rodeo and their athletes the recognition it deserves!

This coming weekend we have to bring in and spay some of our heifers which will be an all day event.  Hopefully Sunday we'll get a day to relax and rest at home before the work week starts all over again next week!

Other than the usual, nothing new has been going on around the ranch.  Our busiest time of the year is coming up in the next few months, so I'm sure my blog posts will get a lot more interesting then!  :)
