Calving season 2014 has officially stared here at the ranch. Our heifers are calving more than our cows are, but we planned it that way. Plus, with it being a heifers first calf they are more likely to come a bit early as well. But, there are also babies running around in our cows as well. I'm going to have to get out this weekend and take pictures of the little things because they grow up way too fast! Plus, when they're first born and starting to explore they are so full of spunk that they're just precious :)
We have been very blessed with moisture the past week in the form of both rain and wet snow. While it makes for trying times putting out hay, we are so thankful for the moisture as it is going to set us up for a great haying season! We hope to continue to see the moisture throughout the spring and summer months as well and continue to thank God and pray to Him for the blessings He's given us thus far.
The boys and I have been enjoying time at home together. I've been working on some sewing projects that I have wanted to get done for a while now, and my next {big} project will be to make my sister a maternity hospital gown for when she goes into labor with our nephew! I'm nervous about making it because its my first actual piece of clothing that I'm going to sew. But, I am confident that I'll be able to pull it off for her!
My best friend Katy had a birthday 2 days ago. She's officially as old as me now! YAY! Happy 28th Birthday KATY!!!!!!! I hope you had a fantastic day!!
The weather has been rather beautiful here lately and we are definitely enjoying that! And, with the time change, the days are staying lighter longer. While we are supposed to get more rain this weekend (which would be fantastic again) we are excited about the 50 degree temperatures that come along with this time of year in Montana! I can't wait until we can make a fire pit and sit on our back porch again!!
